ReplyDeleteA beautiful cover. And if the stories are as good as your Torn Apart was, Diony, this should be an excellent read. As for how service has touched my life . . . nothing like hands-on experience to humble a person. I've been my disabled daughter's full-time caregiver for over 25 years (she's confined to a wheelchair; can't walk) and through it all have come not only to love her in ways I wouldn't have otherwise, but also to love myself. I also have developed great empathy for those who have challenges such as ours.

I'm now a follower - this was a good topic for me to sit and think about - thanks! I think a really small act of service happened a few years ago when I moved to a new place, didn't really know a ton of people and was feeling pretty lonely and sad until a guy from my ward walked by and gave me a smile. It could be considered as insignificant, but considering the way it helped me do a 180 with my mood was definitely significant! I know that I have also had many teachers in the Church who served me by sacrificing their time and energy to prepare and teach important lessons.
