Stand Firm

Last week I was interviewed about my first book, Torn Apart, for an upcoming segment on a new television series on Discovery Network entitled "Family Stories". (it will air later this fall-stay tuned) It was an unsolicited opportunity, and before I moved forward I spent time in discussion and deep thought. One supportive friend in particular said  in response to concerns my openness and message might become misrepresented by the time the show airs: ..."No matter what happens...you've approached it with [the right] attitude and perspective, so you've done all you can do."

In this world there will always be someone to disagree, pass judgement, shake their head, or voice an unwanted opinion after we do or do not do something they think we should. How often do we second guess ourselves after deciding to move ahead with something we feel is right? Do we let the doubts and negativity of others tap away at our peace and confidence once we've moved forward?

If our heart is in the right place and our actions reflect that, that is what matters most, period.

"Many of the deepest regrets of tomorrow can be resolved by following the Savior, today."
